Report: European club issue official update amid Joao Sacramento rumours

Belgian side, Mouscron have officially confirmed the appointment of Jorge Simao as their new manager, putting an end to speculation linking the club with Tottenham assistant Joao Sacramento.

Reports from Belgium (Le Soir) claimed that Mouscron were set to approach Sacramento to become their next manager after sacking Fernando Da Cruz over the weekend.

The club are rooted to the bottom of the Belgian top tier and are yet to win any of their opening nine league games of the season.

The report suggested that Jose Mourinho’s assistant could be tempted by the prospect of becoming a manager but KLN’s Kristof Terreur took to social media to express his doubts over whether the Portuguese coach would take the job.

It now looks as though Mourinho will be able to breathe a sigh of relief as the 31-year-old is set to stay at Spurs for the time being, with Mouscron announcing Sacramento’s compatriot, Simao as their new boss.
