Report: Belgian international to hold talks with Jose Mourinho

A report by Le10Sport claims that Timothy Castagne is ready to hold talks with Jose Mourinho ahead of a potential summer move to Tottenham Hotspur.

The 24-year-old, who only has one year left to run on his contract with Atalanta has admitted that he is looking for a new challenge and would find it difficult to turn down a move to Spurs (La Derniere Heure in Belgium via TEAMtalk).

It has been claimed that Atalanta do not wish to lose the defender on a free transfer next year and have made up their mind to cash in on him this summer (Calcio Atalanta).

Football Insider reported last week that Spurs were set to step up their interest in the right-back and hold talks with his representatives.

Le10Sport suggest that Spurs are competing with Paris Saint-Germain and Leicester City for the Belgian international’s signature.

It is said that the defender is currently focusing on finishing the Serie A campaign.

However, Castagne will reportedly hold discussions with Mourinho, as well as Brendan Rodgers and Thomas Tuchel, over his next move after the season comes to a conclusion.

Spurs Web Opinion

If it comes down to which manager can convince him the best about a move, having Jose Mourinho certainly gives us the edge given how smooth of a talker the Spurs boss is.

I have believed from day one that among the right-backs we have been linked with, Castagne would be the ideal fit for our needs. He is unlikely to be too expensive and his intelligent runs paired with the delivery he possesses makes him an ideal candidate for our system.
