Report: Belgian now emerges as a target for sporting director role at Spurs

Het Nieuwsblad have revealed that Genk technical director Dimitri de Conde has now emerged as a target for Tottenham.

Over the last fear years, he has developed a reputation as a gem finder, helping Genk to snap up several top young players who the club have subsequently sold on for substantial profits.

Het Nieuwsblad state that De Conde’s exploits have brought him to the attention of several Premier League clubs, including Tottenham, who are now said to be ‘monitoring the situation’ of the Belgian.

Outside England, the 48-year-old is also thought to be on the radars of both AS Roma and Atletic Bilbao.

However, with Spurs now having De Conde ‘on their list’, there are said to be ‘fears’ at Genk that their technical director will walk away from the Cegeka Arena at the end of the season.

It appears that the search is still at the preliminary stage, with Spurs seemingly continuing to speak with different directors across Europe.
