Tottenham Hotspur are reported to have agreed on a fee with PSV Eindhoven for Steven Bergwijn on Monday evening.

The Athletic report that Spurs have agreed to pay the Dutch club €30million (£25.4million) along with an additional €2million (£1.7million) based on bonuses and add-ons.

Confirmation of the transfer is expected to happen in the next day or so and he will become the club’s most expensive signing in a January transfer window.

The 22-year-old who has nine caps for Holland is already said to be in London awaiting the transfer to be completed (Evening Standard).

Bergwijn, who typically plays on the left wing, has a tendency to cut in on his stronger right foot can also play on the right side and also more centrally but is not deemed as a replacement for the injured Harry Kane.

He missed PSV’s 1-1 draw with FC Twente on Sunday after making his way to the English capital.
