Report: Bergwijn in London; what PSV and Spurs are said to be currently discussing

Tottenham Hotspur are reported to be confident of reaching an agreement with PSV Eindhoven for Steven Bergwijn.

The Evening Standard claim that the 22-year-old is currently in London whilst the two clubs continue to discuss the transfer.

PSV value the Dutch international at around £27million with current discussions focused on the final fee along with the financial structure of the agreement.

Bergwijn took to Instagram last night to strongly reject claims that he had denied to play in PSV’s 1-1 draw with FC Twente yesterday and instead insisted that he had travelled with the blessing of manager Ernest Faber.

The player was said to have been close to joining Sevilla last season only for a deal to fail to materialise when they failed to trigger a buy out clause (Mirror).

Bergwijn a right-footed winger primarily operates on the left side of the pitch to allow him to cut inside but is also able to play centrally or on the right of the front three.

His arrival would certainly soften the blow of losing Christian Eriksen after the Dane was spotted arriving in Italy earlier this morning.
