Report: Spurs made contact over Gareth Bale but big-money move now close

Many Tottenham Hotspur fans will have been dreaming about a romantic Gareth Bale reunion ever since he left the club for Madrid six years ago.

However, it seems as if a transfer back to North London simply isn’t on the cards, with the latest reports stating that the Welsh winger is close to agreeing a move elsewhere.

Marca have claimed that Gareth Bale will now sign a big-money deal that will see him join Chinese outfit Jiangsu Suning.

The move is apparently only a few small details away from completion, with Bale’s representatives talking to Suning for the past few weeks.

The report states that Bale will earn £19.7m a year in China on a three-year deal, a raise from his £15.2m at Real Madrid. This will boost him to the very top of the charts of the highest-paid players in the world.

The Express add that Tottenham did make contact over a possible move for the club legend, but it wasn’t to be.
