Football Insider have revealed that Mauricio Pochettino is set to be confirmed as Chelsea’s next head coach by the end of this week after a ‘breakthrough’ in talks.
It has been widely reported over the past few weeks that Pochettino is the overwhelming favourite to take over at Chelsea and Football Insider has now indicated that an official confirmation might only be days away.
The report states that talks between the Blues hierarchy and the former Tottenham manager have reached the final stages this week, with the Argentine now keen to take the reins at Stamford Bridge.
It is asserted that final negotiations are now ongoing over the backroom staff and other ‘small’ details, which are expected to be sorted by the end of this week.
It has previously been reported that Tottenham had not even reached out to Pochettino regarding their managerial vacancy, which is alleged to have left the 51-year-old disappointed (talkSPORT).

As difficult as it would be to digest seeing Poch at Chelsea, we cannot really be too critical of his choice, given that Tottenham have not even approached him.
I would be pretty disappointed if we do not end up with an exciting appointment such as Nagelsmann after having allowed Poch to go to Stamford Bridge.
