Report: Body fat percentage of every Spurs player has dropped under Conte

The Telegraph have explained all the big changes that Antonio Conte and his coaching staff have made since arriving at Tottenham, including getting all of the players to reduce their body fat percentage.

The report reveals that Conte puts himself in the middle of the group during the running sessions to drive the pace and intensity of his players.

The Italian is hands-on in every aspect of training and the players are said to have been stunned by his non-stop direction and drive.

Despite all of Tottenham’s games and training sessions being filmed from top-of-the-range club cameras, Conte allegedly instructs his brother Gianluca to film the Tottenham players on an iPad.

Additionally, the report reveals the 52-year-old has also insisted that all the players have to eat together at Hotspur Way, just as they had done under Mauricio Pochettino.

This is said to have improved the squad’s morale, which was low under Jose Mourinho and Nuno Espirito Santo.

The Telegraph also touch on the dietary changes that Conte has made, including a ban on ketchup and fizzy drinks.

The former Inter boss is also said to have stressed the importance of nutrition and sleep, warning his squad that he would know if they broke his rules at home.

Spurs Web Opinion

I think a lot has been made of the ketchup and mayonnaise ban by the media outlets but if you ask Conte and the players, they will probably see it is a minor and largely inconsequential change.

The caloric difference that a dash of ketchup makes for elite-level athletes is negligible as they would be monitoring their caloric intake closely anyway. The point of incremental changes like this is perhaps to inculcate more discipline and professionalism in the squad.
