Report – Boost for Spurs as Lyon already targeting Ndombele replacement

Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly finally close to getting a deal over the line for a new player, with Tanguy Ndombele the man who could potentially end the club’s 16-month drought (Sky Sports).

The Lyon midfield powerhouse has been extremely impressive in both the French League and the Champions League this season, with performances against Man City being particularly eye-catching.

Sky Sports have reported that a deal is close between yon and Spurs, and this could be further reinforced by claims that the French side already have their eyes on a replacement.

The Scottish Sun claim that Lyon are interested in signing Celtic’s Olivier Ntcham this summer, a 23-year-old central midfielder.

The same position as the Tottenham target, and just a year old, HITC have hinted that Ntcham could be the successor to Ndombele.

If this is true, it could be a positive sign for Spurs, as Lyon are clearly planning for life without their star man next season.

Spurs Web Opinion:

If Lyon are indeed looking for replacements already, then it implies they are resigned to losing Ndombele this summer. Let’s hope that Spurs can get the deal over the line before any other interested parties come knocking.
