Report: Boost for Spurs in Wan-Bissaka chase as Palace move for potential replacement

Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino has said that the club needs to undergo a painful rebuild in the summer, which indicates that there will be wholesale changes to the squad this summer (Standard).

Among the positions where Spurs are said to be looking for upgrades is the right-back position with reports indicating that Kieran Tripper could be on his way out of the club this summer. The England international, who has had a poor season is said to be interesting the likes of Atletico Madrid and Napoli (The Mirror).

Spurs are said to be keen on replacing Trippier with Crystal Palace’s Aaron Wan-Bissaka, whose performances this season have attracted the attention of several clubs. It is claimed that Spurs will face still competition from Manchester United for the £60million-rated defender this summer (The Express).

Now, it looks like Spurs might have received a boost in their quest to land Wan-Bissaka with the Daily Mail claiming that the Eagles have made a move for Everton right-back Jonjoe Kenny.

While it is not clear if Kenny is a replacement for Wan-Bissaka, yet securing his signing will surely make Palace far more likely to sanction a deal for the highly-rated youngster.

Spurs Web Opinion

We believe the club should go all out for Wan-Bissaka. Spurs have missed the dynamism that Kyle Walker provided from right back for the last couple of seasons.

Wan-Bissaka has shown that he has the engine to get up and down the field for the entire 90 minutes, and his value is only likely to go up in the coming years as he gets more expereince under his belt.
