Report: Brentford, Leicester and Hoffenheim in race for Spurs starlet

Football Insider have reported that Brentford, Leicester City and Hoffenheim are all in a race to sign Tottenham Hotspur youngster Elliot Thorpe this summer.

Thorpe’s contract is set to expire next month and the report claims that the starlet is going to leave the North London club.

It is said that Spurs did offer the 20-year-old a new deal but he rejected the offer because he wants to move somewhere with a better path to first-team football.

It was originally reported that the race was between Leicester City and Hoffenheim, but Football Insider have now added Brentford to that list.

The report adds that Brentford’s B-team may offer a unique pathway for the Spurs youngster. Six B-team players made their senior debuts for Brentford this season, showing a clear route into the first team.

Although Thorpe was a regular in first-team training for Spurs last season under Jose Mourinho, he has never made a senior appearance for the North London club.
