Report: Brighton ‘assessing’ fitness and injury doubts ahead Spurs FA Cup match

Brighton and Hove Independent have revealed that Graham Potter is waiting on the fitness of multiple first-team players ahead of his side’s FA Cup clash against Tottenham on Saturday.

For the first time in a long time, Antonio Conte is expected to have a fully fit squad to call upon for Tottenham’s FA Cup fourth-round clash on Saturday, with Son Heung-min now back in full training (Sky Sports’ Lyall Thomas).

However, Tottenham’s opponents are facing a nervous wait regarding the fitness of several of their key players.

Brighton have been weakened defensively after losing defender Dan Burn to Newcastle United on deadline day.

Brighton and Hove Independent claim that, as things stand, the likes of Lewis Dunk, Enock Mwepu, and Shane Duffy are expected to be available for Saturday after recovering from their injuries.

In addition, Yves Bissouma is expected to be back in contention for the clash after returning from the African Cup of Nations.

However, Jeremy Sarmiento remains out of action with a hamstring injury while Adam Lallana would have to be ‘carefully assessed’ ahead of the game.

Alexis Mac Allister is also considered ‘doubtful’ for Brithgon’s trip to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Spurs Web Opinion

Brighton are certainly in a better position than they were before the international break, with several of their key players now close to returning.

However, the same can be said of Spurs, with the international break providing the likes of Son and Romero the time they needed to recover.

It will be interesting to see Conte’s starting eleven on Saturday as the Italian not only has a fully fit squad to choose from but has also been boosted by the arrivals of Kulusevski and Bentancur.
