Report: Brighton could be without eight first-team players for Spurs match

Brighton could be without eight first-team players for Sunday’s Premier League encounter against Tottenham, according to The Athletic.

The Seagulls welcome Spurs to the south coast on the back of a dramatic midweek of action, where late equalisers from Neal Maupay secured draws at West Ham and Southampton.

However, Graham Potter could be braced for a number of absentees ahead of this weekend’s fixture against Spurs at the Amex Stadium, with injuries and suspensions through his squad.

The Brighton boss had used all three of his permitted substitutions against the Hammers before Adam Lallana limped off the pitch, while Leandro Trossard needed to be stretchered off with an arm injury against Southampton.

Potter also has a host of problems in defence, with captain Lewis Dunk joining Adam Webster on the mounting list of injuries and Shane Duffy set to undergo a one-match ban.

Jeremy Sarmiento saw his Premier League debut against West Ham cut short on just 12 minutes after suffering a hamstring problem which is set to rule him out for up to three months.

The Ecuador winger will sit on the treatment table alongside Danny Welbeck, who also suffered a hamstring injury and Steven Alzate with an ankle problem, who have both been ruled out since late September.

Spurs Web Opinion

Brighton appear to be having a bit of a crisis in their squad at the moment, and it is something that Spurs will need to take advantage of this weekend.

They also haven’t been in the best of form either, but Antonio Conte will need to have the squad prepared for a team that plays a good brand of football.
