According to The Athletic’s David Ornstein, Brighton have now won the race for Nordsjaelland starlet Ibrahim Osman, who was alleged to be on Tottenham’s radar.
Osman was reported to have caught the eye of several clubs since establishing himself as a regular in Nordsjaelland’s starting eleven at the start of this season.
The pacy winger, who is capable of playing across the forward line but prefers operating on the left wing, is a skilful dribbler and likes to take players on, which is evidently the kind of wide player Ange Postecoglou prefers.
It thus did not come as much of a surprise when Ben Jacobs reported last week that Tottenham are plotting a summer move for the 19-year-old.
The journalist explained that the likes of Brighton and West Ham were keen on landing the player now but should they fail, the Lilywhites are prepared to enter the race for the youngster at the end of the season.

Brighton win the race for Ibrahim Osman
However, Ornstein has now revealed that Brighton have been successful in their pursuit of Osman, with the South Coast club alleged to have struck a €19.5m (£16.6m) deal with Nordsjaelland for the winger.
The journalist explains that the Ghanaian will remain at the Danish club for the remainder of the season before arriving at Amex Stadium ahead of next season. Ornstein adds that Roberto De Zerbi’s men saw off competition from ‘a host of clubs’ to land the winger.
Spurs Web Opinion
Given Brighton’s track record in developing young players and selling them on to European heavyweights for a profit, one can understand why Osman was keen on a switch to the Seagulls. The teenager might have felt that he might have struggled for game time at a club like Spurs.
