Report: Brighton ready to submit offer for rumoured Spurs target in January

TuttoMercatoWeb have revealed that Brighton are prepared to launch a sizeable offer to snap up rumoured Tottenham target Davide Frattesi in January.

After catching the eye last season with his consistent displays for Saussolo, Frattesi has taken his game up another notch this season, having found the back of the net four times in 15 Serie A games so far in 2022-23 (Transfermarkt).

The central midfielder was linked with a move to Spurs during the summer transfer window (Gazzetta) and it has emerged over recent months that Antonio Conte’s men are continuing to keep their eye on the Italy international ahead of January (Sassuolo News).

While covering Frattesi’s future, TuttoMercatoWeb have now explained that the 24-year-old looks increasingly likely to leave Sassuolo, either in January or next summer. The report makes no mention of Spurs, naming Brighton as the only Premier League side interested in the midfielder.

It is asserted that Roberto De Zerbi is keen on reuniting with Frattesi and that the Seagulls ‘have no rivals on the economic factor’, suggesting that they are willing to blow the other competitors out of the water.

However, it is explained that the Saussolo star would prefer to remain in Italy, and is particularly keen on returning to his boyhood club Roma. Apart from the Giallorossi, Napoli, Inter Milan, AC Milan and Juventus are also thought to be monitoring Frattesi’s situation.

Spurs Web Opinion

If Tottenham really wanted Frattesi, one would expect us to be favourites for his signature as we would be able to offer a bigger fee and a better salary than any of the clubs mentioned in the TMW report.  However, it does appear as if the likes of McKennie and Malinovskyi rank higher on Conte’s and Paratici’s wishlist than the Sassuolo star.
