Report: Bryan Gil has decided where he wants to play next season

It seems Bryan Gil is almost certainly leaving Tottenham Hotspur in the summer, and the young winger has decided he would like to return to Sevilla.

As far as Tottenham careers go, Bryan Gil‘s time in North London has been massively underwhelming. Arriving in the summer of 2021 with great promise, the Spaniard has featured just 42 times in total for the Lilywhites in the three years since.

In that time, he has enjoyed spells on loan with Valencia, and with his former club Sevilla. However, Gil was retained by Ange Postecoglou for the current campaign.

Things haven’t gone to plan this year, either, with Gil making just 11 appearances in total, with only 221 minutes on the pitch (Transfermarkt). He is still yet to score for Spurs.

Bryan Gil ready to return to Spain

It has previously been suggested that Gil is ready to leave the club, and would like to return to Sevilla permanently (Vamos Mi Sevilla).

The latest update comes from Estadio Deportivo, who claim that the decision has been firmed in Gil’s mind, and that he has communicated that to the powers that be at Tottenham.

It is now thought Gil may even “flatly refuse” other offers until he gets the move he wants. The 23-year-old does not want to accept another loan deal and wants a more concrete solution to his problem at Spurs.

Apparently, Tottenham are asking for just €7-8m (£6-6.8m) for Gil. Regardless, he is entirely focused on a return to Sevilla and other “proposals are not going to appeal” to him in the summer.

Spurs Web Opinion

I would have thought Sevilla would be keen to take Gil back. We are going to take a massive loss on him, but it has to be done because, at this stage, we are just wasting everyone’s time.
