Report: Bundesliga club identify replacement for defender wanted by Spurs

According to a report from Sky Germany (as relayed by GFNG), RB Leipzig have now identified a replacement for Josko Gvardiol, who is rumoured to be on Tottenham’s radar.

Spurs are expected to prioritise signing a left-sided centre-back when the transfer window opens in the summer (Telegraph).

The Daily Mail reported last week that Tottenham have been impressed with Gvardiol’s showing at the Red Bull Arena this season and that the Croat had moved ahead of Villarreal’s Pau Torres and Lille’s Sven Botman in the North London club’s wishlist.

The report further added that Leipzig value the 20-year-old at around £50m amidst Tottenham’s interest.

If Sky Germany’s latest update is to be believed, it looks like Leipzig are now planning for like after Gvardiol.

The report claims that the Bundesliga club have identified Real Madrid youngster Rafa Marin as a potential replacement for the Gvardiol on the back of several clubs showing interest in the former Dinamo Zagreb man.

Based on what we have seen from Paratici so far, we know that the Spurs managing director is likely to negotiate deals for several players before deciding on who to sign. So, it is anybody’s guess at this point who our number one left-sided centre-back target would be in the summer.
