Report: Bundesliga club want Spurs midfielder in January

According to a report in The Sun on Sunday (print edition, page 63, December 15, 2019) Spurs midfielder Victor Wanyama is on the radar of Hertha Berlin.

The report claims that the Bundesliga club, who are currently managed by former Spurs forward and fan favourite Jurgen Klinsmann, are keen to sign the 28-year-old in order to reinforce their midfield.

It is also asserted that new Spurs boss Jose Mourinho is open to letting the Kenyan international leave in January.

Celtic boss Neil Lennon admitted last month that he would love to re-sign Wanyama for the Scottish giants in January (Daily Record).

The 28-year-old has barely seen any game time this season and on the evidence of the last few games, Mourinho seems to prefer the likes of Eric Dier, Moussa Sissoko, Harry Winks and Tanguy Ndombele to the former Southampton midfielder.

If the above report is to be believed, then it looks like Wanyama’s days in North London could now be numbered.

Spurs Web Opinion

With Dier, Sissoko, Ndombele, Winks and possibly even Skipp ahead of him in the pecking order, it is clear that Wanyama has no future at Spurs. The 28-year-old has been extremely unfortunate with injuries over the last couple of years. He was sensational in his first season for us and it is a shame that he never managed to rediscover that form.
