German news outlet Wolfsburger Allgemeine Zeitung have revealed that Omar Marmoush, who was rumoured to be on Tottenham’s radar ahead of the summer transfer window, could be sold for a cut-price fee in January.
Marmoush caught people’s eye with his impressive displays on loan at VfB Stuttgart last season, scoring three goals and providing five assists in 21 Bundesliga appearances across the campaign (Transfermarkt).
BILD reported earlier this year that the winger’s performances at the Mercedes-Benz Arena had attracted the attention of both Tottenham and Arsenal, and quoted the player himself as saying that he dreams of playing in the Premier League in the future.
The 23-year-old has got regular game time under his belt this season after returning to his parent club Wolfsburg in the summer but his future is up in the air, with his current deal at the Volkswagen Arena running out in the summer (Transfermarkt).
Wolfsburger Allgemeine Zeitung have now explained that the Bundesliga club’s talks with Marmoush over a new deal have hit a roadblock, which has left them with a dilemma.
With Wolfsburg’s sporting director Jorg Schmadtke is said to be struggling to convince the Egyptiaan international to commit to a new deal, it is reported that club could sell the winger in January to avoid losing him for free in the summer.

Spurs Web Opinion
Marmoush showed promise at Stuttgart last season but has not been able to maintain the same sort of form back at Wolfsburg this campaign. At 23 years of age, the Egyptian cannot be considered a young prospect anymore.
So, I doubt any Premier League side, let along a Champions League club like Spurs, would be particularly keen on snapping up the winger.
