Report: Celtic make approach for Spurs player

According to Sky Sports, Celtic have now made an approach to sign Tottenham Hotspur wide man Ryan Sessegnon.

Sessegnon is yet to feature for Tottenham this campaign despite the club’s congested fixture schedule.

Reports indicated that Spurs are now open to loaning the defender out after securing the services of Sergio Reguilon from Real Madrid (Daily Mail).

The Telegraph reported last week that Brighton, Southampton and Burnley were all interested in taking the 20-year-old on loan for the season, while Ajax were also monitoring his situation.

Sky Sports have revealed that Celtic have become the latest side to enter the race for Sessegnon’s signature.

It is claimed that Niel Lennon wants to add a left-back to his squad before the transfer window shuts on Monday and that the former Fulham man has been identified as a target.

However, it is said that the finances of the deal could be a problem for the Scottish giants.

Spurs Web Opinion

It is clear that Sessegnon is not going to get game time even in cup competitions or in the Europa League if he stays at Spurs. So, he needs a loan move in order to continue his development. I am sure Spurs would prefer to loan him to a Premier League side but that comes with the risk of not getting regular football. He will be guaranteed to start every game at Celtic if we loan him out to the Scottish side.
