Report: Celtic make loan approach to Tottenham for 23-year-old

Sky Sports News reporter Paul Gilmour has provided an update on Cameron Carter-Vickers from outside of Tottenham’s Hotspur Way training ground.

Gilmour revealed that Celtic are keen to take the central defender on loan, while Spurs are looking for a permanent transfer.

90min reported earlier that Newcastle United have also made enquiries for the USA international, who last played for Spurs earlier this month during the 1-0 defeat against Pacos de Ferreira, injuring his ankle in the process.

Football.London have stated that Carter-Vickers has recovered from the problem and is now fit enough to be the subject of a transfer.

Celtic have already conducted business with Spurs earlier in the summer, following the departure of goalkeeper Joe Hart.

The 23-year-old is out of contract in North London at the end of the season, and a loan deal makes little sense to the club unless there is an obligation to buy.
