Report: Celtic set to miss out on heavily-linked Spurs target

Celtic are set to miss out on soon-to-be free agent Ryan Fraser with the winger keen to join another Premier League club when his contract expires this month.

According to ReadCeltic, the 26-year-old was offered the chance to become the highest-paid player at Celtic but the midfielder is interested in staying in the English Premier League.

Fraser was brought to Bournemouth from Scottish side Aberdeen in 2013 for £400,000 (Guardian).

Spurs are just one of a number of Premier League teams to be linked with the winger with Arsenal and Everton also said to be keen on the Scottish international (Metro).

However, with his contract set to expire at the end of the month, Fraser rejected the opportunity to see the season out at the Cherries in the fear of picking up an injury which could end his hopes of moving on in the summer (Metro).

Bournemouth manager, Eddie Howe decided against using Fraser in the south coast club’s final two matches of June (talkSPORT).

Spurs Web Opinion

Even though we will be operating on an even tighter budget this summer, I am not entirely sure this move would make much sense for Spurs. I feel we have better options in the squad at the minute and we are stacked in terms of wide players.
