Report: Centre-back now prefers French club to Spurs – Alasdair Gold said a bid was expected soon

FootMercato have reported that an agreement has almost been found between Tosin Adarabioyo and Monaco, despite the centre-back having an offer on the table from Tottenham.

It is said that Adarabioyo prefers a move to the Ligue 1 club over Spurs, although Fulham have not yet received an official bid from Monaco for the defender.

Tottenham have still not invested in the centre of defence this summer, despite Ben Davies having to cover in the back two during the club’s pre-season friendlies.

Ange Postecoglou assured fans that the club were trying to bring in a new centre-back as quickly as possible, with just over two weeks to go until the start of the new season (Daily Mail).

Not looking good for Spurs in Adarabioyo race

Alasdair Gold reported via FootballLondon recently that there was a growing expectation Spurs were going to bid for Adarabioyo in the near future.

The 25-year-old only has one year remaining on his contract in London and appears to have his eye on an exit, with Monaco circling.

Spurs Web Opinion:

I would assume that Monaco can offer a guaranteed starting role, while Spurs cannot. The ironic thing is that Tottenham haven’t even signed the player Tosin would be back up too yet. Once again, the Lilywhites are leaving things late when it comes to getting their most important signing.
