Report: Centre-back said to be wanted by Spurs could be sold for just £13m

According to The Sunday Mirror (20/3; page 74), Tottenham target Nikola Milenkovic could be available on a cut-price deal this summer due to his contract situation at Fiorentina.

Milenkovic has been a consistent performer in Fiorentina’s backline for the past few years but his contract with the Serie A club only runs until 2023 (Transfermarkt).

Spurs were linked with a move for the centre-back ahead of the January transfer window (Corriere di Puglia e Lucania) while Newcastle United were also credited with an interest in the player (The Sun).

The Mirror have now claimed that Milenkovic has little intention of extending his contract with Fiorentina and is thus expected to leave in the summer.

The report reveals that Spurs, Newcastle, West Ham, Manchester United and Inter Milan are all eyeing a move for the Serbian international.

It is explained that the central defender could be sold by the Viola for a fee as low as £13m when the transfer window reopens.

Spurs Web Opinion

I do not think Milenkovic would be at the top of Tottenham’s wishlist as Cristian Romero seems to have made the right centre-back position his own. Perhaps, Spurs will consider the Serbian as a potential replacement for Davison Sanchez if the Colombian pushes to leave in order to get regular game time under his belt.
