TEAMtalk have revealed that Tottenham target Marc Guehi has decided to remain at Crystal Palace until the end of the season.
Over the last month, Spurs Web has relayed various reports which have suggested that Guehi is one of the centre-backs at the top of Tottenham’s wishlist ahead of the January transfer window (GiveMeSport).
The Daily Express reporter Ryan Taylor told Spurs Chat Podcast just a couple of weeks ago that Ange Postecoglou’s men are continuing to watch the Palace star closely.
Marc Guehi decides to stay at Palace for now
However, TEAMtalk’s latest update comes as a major blow to Spurs, with the outlet revealing that Palace will not sell Guehi before next summer’s European Championship.
It is explained that the Eagles value the centre-back at £60m at present but are of the belief that his value could increase significantly if he impresses for England next summer.
Meanwhile, the centre-back himself is thought to be keen to remain at Selhurst Park until the end of the season so that he has some stability and gives himself the best chance of being in Gareth Southgate’s starting eleven for the Euros.
The publication adds that Palace have informed the likes of Tottenham and Arsenal of their decision to hang on to the 23-year-old.
Spurs Web Opinion
In any case, I do not think Spurs would have seriously considered a move for Guehi until next summer. There could potentially be a bidding war for the centre-back’s services after the Euros as he will have just two years left on his contract by then.
