Report: Centre-back wants one clarification before agreeing to Spurs move

Mundo Deportivo have claimed that Clement Lenglet wants to wait and see who Tottenham appoint as their next head coach before agreeing to join the club permanently.

The report states that Spurs have been ‘satisfied’ with Lenglet’s performances during his loan spell as well as the way he has adapted to the team and new environment.

The North London club have allegedly already communicated to Barcelona that they would be interested in signing the centre-back permanently this summer.

However, it is explained that the two clubs would still need to negotiate and agree on a price, while the player would need to green-light the operation.

Mundo Deportivo state that Lenglet feels ‘comfortable’ at Tottenham but wants to wait to see what the future hold before making a final decision.

After having played under three different coaches this season, the Frenchman is thought to want to see who takes over in N17 and what kind of project the club undertake before opting for a permanent switch to Hotspur Way.

While Tottenham might have communicated their interest to Barcelona, I do not think the club would make a decision about Lenglet until they have a new director of football and head coach in place.

A lot will depend on whether the next manager prefers playing with three or four at the back.
