Report: Chairman ‘betting all his chips’ on Spurs making offer for centre-back

According to SportMediaset (27/06/22 – as relayed by Inter-News and SportWitness), Torino hope and believe that Tottenham Hotspur will launch an offer for Gleison Bremer.

Calciomercato reported last week that Inter and Spurs were battling it out for Bremer’s signature and the centre-back will hold discussions with interested clubs when he returns to Europe from holiday at the end of this month.

La Stampa revealed on Monday that despite Inter’s interest in the Brazilian, Torino technical director Davide Vagnati will fly to London to hold talks with Spurs and Chelsea in an effort to get a bidding war going for the centre-back.

Sportmediaset have now offered a more detailed explanation of the situation, stating that Inter have had an agreement in place over personal terms with Bremer since January.

However, the Nerazzurri have reportedly failed to agree on a transfer fee with Torino, who are said to value the defender at around €40m (£34.5m).

It is explained that Torino chairman Urbano Cairo ‘is betting all his chips’ on Tottenham entering the race for Bremer.

Even though Inter are the front-runners for the centre-back, Torino are said to be hopeful that Spurs will make an offer for the player.

Spurs Web Opinion

It is clear that Paratici has informed Torino of Tottenham’s interest in Bremer. However, we know that the Spurs managing director holds talks for a whole host of players for each position.

So, it remains to be seen if the North London club will actually make an offer for the Brazilian. If Bremer was at the top of Conte’s wishlist, I suspect we would have already agreed on a deal, given Torino’s relatively modest asking price.
