Report: Champions League football could boost Tottenham’s chances of signing winger

Football Insider have revealed that Tottenham’s win over Aston Villa might serve as a major boost to the Lilywhites’ chances to land Pedro Neto as the winger is keen on playing in the Champions League next season.

The report makes it clear that Tottenham are far from the only club eyeing Neto, with the Wolves star also said to be on the radars of Liverpool, Arsenal, Manchester City and Newcastle United ahead of the summer transfer window.

Football Insider say that Wolves will not stand in the 23-year-old’s way if their valuation is met in the summer as they need to raise funds in order to comply with the Premier League’s financial rules.

Pedro Neto’s Champions League aspirations

The report suggests that Neto has made up his mind to leave Molineux Stadium and is keen on testing himself at the highest level.

As a result, Champions League qualification could give Tottenham a ‘huge edge’ in the race for the Portugal international’s signature in the summer.

The report adds that Gary O’Neil’s men are expected to demand a fee in the region of £50m-£60m for the pacy attacker when the transfer window reopens in June.

Spurs Web Opinion

While Champions League qualification might not necessarily put Tottenham at the front of the queue for Neto’s signature, given the other clubs involved in the race, one would assume that failing to qualify for the tournament will end Spurs’ chances of landing the Wolves star.
