Report: Championship club could get multi-million-pound pay out from Spurs this month

According to reports, Leeds United might be in line for a multi-million-pound windfall if Danny Rose secures a move away from Tottenham this month.

The left-back reportedly had a falling out with Jose Mourinho over not being selected in the matchday squad for the game against Watford two weeks ago (Daily Mail).

Rose subsequently sat out of the games against Norwich and Southampton, and Mourinho made it clear that the defender was dropped because of his performances.

The England international has now reportedly accepted that his time at Tottenham has come to an end (Evening Standard).

According to Football Insider, Watford are poised to make a bid to sign Rose before the close of the window.

The report reveals that Leeds United will be owed 10% of any transfer fee that Spurs get for Rose. It also says that the Lilywhites want £20 million, which would mean Leeds could net as much as £2 million from the transfer, from a player they sold to Tottenham twelve years ago.

Spurs Web Opinion

Rose’s form has been dreadful this season and it doesn’t look like he is ever going to get back to his previous levels. I would want us to get rid of him before the window shuts even if clubs fall short of our asking price as he could be a negative influence on the dressing room.
