Report: Championship club make contact with Spurs about signing defender

According to journalist, Kris Temple, Bournemouth are interested in signing Cameron Carter-Vickers on a permanent basis this summer.

Carter-Vickers has not made a first-team appearance for Spurs since 2017 and has had loan spells at Sheffield United, Ipswich Town, Swansea City, Stoke City and Luton Town since then.

The USA international joined Bournemouth on loan last summer but did not have the best of starts to his spell at the Vitality Stadium as injuries prevented him from hitting the ground running.

However, the centre-back has established himself as a first-choice under Jonathan Woodgate and has enjoyed a strong second half of the season.

It was reported back in February that Tottenham will look to sell the 23-year-old this summer irrespective of how well he does on loan this season.

If Temple is to be believed, the Cherries are keen on making the centre-back’s stay permanent. The journalist took to Twitter to revealed that the Championship club have already reached out to Spurs about signing Carter-Vickers.
