Report: Championship club make loan offer for 20-year-old Spurs starlet

According to Inews, Sunderland have now made an offer to Tottenham to sign Troy Parrott on loan.

Parrott shone during his loan spell at MK Dons last season and Antonio Conte is currently getting his first look at the striker in pre-season.

The 20-year-old admitted last week that he is learning a lot about what Conte expects of forwards in his system both on and off the ball (Football.London).

The Sunday World had reported earlier this month that the Republic of Ireland international was attracting interest from several Championship clubs including Queens Park Rangers, Sunderland and Preston North End.

The report suggested that a switch to QPR could be tempting for Parrott and Spurs as it would allow the striker to remain in his London base.

According to Inews’ latest update, the Black Cats have become the first one to test the waters with a bid for the Tottenham striker.

The report claims that Alex Neil’s men want to bring Parrott to the Stadium of Light in a temporary deal ahead of their return to the Championship this season.

Spurs Web Opinion

It is crucial that Tottenham find the right loan move for Parrott this summer. Ideally, the 20-year-old should be sent to a side who have a possession-based style of play instead of a counter-attacking one, and where he would be guaranteed regular starts. A move to Sunderland does seem to tick both boxes.
