Report: Championship club opens talks for Spurs midfielder

Several of Tottenham’s youngsters have impressed in the preseason games so far. While Troy Parrott has stolen the limelight with his impressive performances up top, Oliver Skipp has once again shown why he is so highly rated at the club.

However, just has one young midfielder seems to be emerging in Skipp, another midfielder who was just as highly rated a few seasons ago, looks like he is on his way out of the club.

Football Insider reports that Huddersfield Town have opened talks with Spurs over a season-long loan deal for midfielder Josh Onomah.

Huddersfield manager Jan Siewert has apparently identified Onomah has the man to replace Philip Billing, who left to join Bournemouth.

Great things were expected of the 22-year-old but he failed to impress during his loan spells with Aston Villa and Sheffield Wednesday for the past two seasons. It looks like the youngster is now set for a third consecutive season on loan in the Championship.

At this point, it is clear that Onomah has next to no chance of breaking into the first team at Spurs. The club will be hoping that he shows what he can do this season after suffering an injury-hit 2018/19 campaign so that his value will go up by next summer.
