Report: Championship club raising funds to rival Spurs for centre-forward

West Bromwich Albion are determined to land Fenerbahce striker, Vedat Muriqi, and are readying an offer for the striker, according to reports from Turkey.

The Turkish press have persistently linked Tottenham with a move for the Kosovo international across 2020.

The Lilywhites have not only been installed as favourites to land the striker by Sabah, but Muriqi is also said to be keen on completing a move to North London and linking up with Jose Mourinho (Fanatik via Sport Witness).

It has even been suggested that Spurs have made an opening offer of £4.5 million, which has been turned down by Fenerbahce (Aspor).

Reports have previously indicated that West Brom are also interested in signing the 26-year-old if they win promotion to the Premier League (Fanatik via Tribal Football).

Fanatik now reports that Slavin Bilic’s side are in the process of raising funds in order to put together a bid to challenge Spurs for Muriqi. The Baggies are said to be willing to offload players to help raise cash to sign the striker this summer.

Spurs Web Opinion

While I was initially convinced that we were seriously considering Muriqi as an option given that so many reports had linked us with the striker, I am now extremely sceptical because several Turkish publications seem to contradict each other on Muriqi’s future almost on a daily basis.
