Report: Championship club set to win race for Tottenham attacker

According to Lancs Live, Preston North End are set to win the race to sign Tottenham striker Troy Parrott on a season-long loan deal.

After returning from his impressive loan spell at MK Dons last season, the striker had an opportunity to work with Antonio Conte and his coaching staff for the first time during this pre-season.

The 20-year-old travelled with the Spurs squad on their pre-season tour to South Korea and featured in the club’s friendlies against Team K-League and Sevilla.

However, Parrott did not feature for Tottenham in their clash against Rangers on Saturday, with Football.London’s Alasdair Gold subsequently revealing that it was because the youngster was close to sealing a loan move away from north London.

If Lancs Live’s latest update is to be believed, Preston look set to have won the race for the Republic of Ireland international.

The report claims that Ryan Lowe’s side saw off plenty of competition for Parrott’s signature from fellow Championship clubs including Sunderland, QPR, Swansea and Middlesbrough.

Spurs Web Opinion

Based on what we have seen from Parrott in pre-season, it seems like he matured as a footballer during his spell at MK Dons. I would not be surprised if the 20-year-old takes the Championship by storm next season if his proposed transfer to Preston goes through.
