CaughtOffside have now revealed that Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur could be set for a major battle for the signature of Stuttgart winger Chris Fuhrich.
Chelsea are also interested in Chris Fuhrich
The report backs up what we have heard from various sources over recent days by stating that Tottenham were impressed with Furich’s displays at the MHP Arena last season and are now plotting a move for the player.
It is revealed that the wide-man, who scored nine goals and provided seven assists last season, is also on the radar of several other sides across Europe.
The 26-year-old, who has a release clause of €26m (£22m) in his contract, is reportedly being monitored by Bayern Munich, Bayer Leverkusen and Borussia Dortmund as well as a couple of La Liga sides.
Tottenham need more quality in wide areas
However, the report adds that it is Tottenham and Chelsea who are ‘really serious’ about winning the race for the Furich’s signature, with both London sides ready to make their move.
According to the update, the German international is not desperate to leave Stuttgart this summer and would be happy to stay at the club and play Champions League football next season if a move does not materialise.
Spurs Web Opinion
Given the low release clause, this deal should be fairly straightforward for Tottenham to complete if they are keen on securing Chris Fuhrich.
However, it remains to be seen if the winger would want to swap a Champions League club for one which would be playing in the Europa League next season.
A good campaign at Euro 2024 for Germany could also see Stuttgart look to command an even higher transfer fee.
