Report: Chelsea fan now arrested for allegedly racially abusing Spurs star in shock twist

While Chelsea managed to defeat Tottenham 2-0 at the new stadium on Sunday, extending the gap between the two sides to six points, the post-match talk has not been focused on the result.

Antonio Rudiger, the Chelsea defender, reported alleged racism from members of the Spurs crowd towards him in the second half of the game in North London (Sky Sports).

The referee then stopped the match to consult with the players and the managers, before an announcement was played around the ground three times asking for the abuse to stop.

However, since then, a Tottenham investigation has yielded ‘inconclusive’ results, after lip readers were used to review footage from the match.

Despite this, an arrest has been made as a Chelsea fan allegedly hurled racial abuse at Heung Min Son, which was reported by fellow Blues supporters (Guardian).

The Metropolitan police an investigating the claims of racist chanting, and it has been revealed that one fan was ejected from the ground and arrested on a racially aggravated public order offence.
