Report: Chelsea fans send message to the club about Conor Gallagher links to Spurs

According to talkSPORT, Chelsea fans made their feelings clear to the club’s board about Conor Gallagher amidst Tottenham’s expected approach for the midfielder.

With Gallagher set to run into the final year of his contract this summer, it appears to be an open secret that he would leave Stamford Bridge this summer, with a number of outlets explaining over the last few months that the Blues would have to sell him due to their PSR issues (The Times).

Spurs are thought to be ready to pounce on the 24-year-old, with various outlets continuing to suggest that the Lilywhites are at the front of the queue to sign the midfielder (Football Insider).

Chelsea fans send Conor Gallagher message

While talkSPORT have now also said that Tottenham are ‘best poised’ to sign Gallagher, they point out that Chelsea fans made their feelings clear over what they think about the idea of selling the player to their London rivals.

It is revealed that home fans at Stamford Bridge carried a huge banner of the England international during Thursday’s London Derby, with the caption: “Chelsea since birth”, in what was intended as a message to Todd Boehly and the club’s board.

The midfielder showcased just why Ange Postecoglou wants him, delivering a typically energetic display in the middle of the park and helping the West London club emerge 2-0 winners.

Spurs Web Opinion

It is quite possible that Chelsea would sell Gallagher for a lower fee to West Ham or Newcastle than Spurs. The Blues board might fear a fan backlash if they sell such a popular player to a club that the Chelsea fans consider to be their fiercest rivals.
