Report: Chelsea have another Spurs-linked manager on their list – Not Nagelsmann

Bild have revealed that Tottenham’s managerial target, Oliver Glasner, is also one of the names on Chelsea’s shortlist to replace Graham Potter.

Over the last few days, multiple sources have suggested that Chelsea have stolen a march on Spurs in the pursuit of Julian Nagelsmann, with the Blues said to have reached out to the German about taking over at Stamford Bridge immediately (Fabrizio Romano).

Bild have now claimed that the West London club also have their eye on another of Spurs’ reported targets in Glasner.

The report reveals Chelsea contacted the Austrian last summer to check on his availability but he rebuffed their approach in favour of sticking with Eintracht Frankfurt.

The 48-year-old is now said to feature once again on the Premier League club’s shortlist and it is suggested that he might be tempted to accept the job this time.

Bild add that Glasner has rejected a contract offer from Frankfurt as he wants time to think about his future.

He is also thought to have a release clause in his current contract, which can be activated before the club’s final game of the season.

Spurs Web Opinion

While Glasner certainly deserves a job in the Premier League on the back of his exploits at Frankfurt, I do not think he would be the top choice for either Spurs or Chelsea.

The Austrian would first have to prove his chops at a club like West Ham or Palace in order to be in with a genuine chance of the top jobs.
