Report: Chelsea have made an offer for Spurs-linked attacking midfielder

According to CalcioMercatoWeb.it, Chelsea are one of two clubs to have submitted an offer for AS Roma midfielder Nicola Zalewski, who is rumoured to be on Tottenham’s radar.

Over the past couple of weeks, Spurs have been linked with a move for Nicolo Zaniolo (TuttoSport) but his Roma teammate Zalewski is thought to be another name on the Lilywhites’ radar this summer.

The 20-year-old, who made his senior debut for the Giallorossi at the end of the 2020/21 campaign, won many admirers in his showing in the Serie A last campaign.

CalcioMercato reported last week that Antonio Conte had asked Fabio Paratici to push ahead with a move for the Poland international.

CalcioMercatoWeb.it have now claimed that Zalewski is attracting quite a lot of interest from Premier League clubs. The report does not mention Spurs but reveals that Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain have already submitted offers for the Roma starlet.

However, it is explained that Jose Mourinho’s men will not sell the versatile attacking midfielder unless they receive ‘crazy offers’ of around €50m-€60m (£41.8m-£50.2m).

Spurs Web Opinion

While Zalewski is very talented, I cannot see anyone shelling out upwards of £40m for the 20-year-old this summer. I also believe that Roma will be keen to hang on to the youngster.

Jose Mourinho’s men are far likelier to cash in on Zaniolo than Zalewski, particularly given that the 23-year-old has two years left on his deal and they have signed Dybala.
