Report: Chelsea have the ability to hijack reported Spurs plan to sign winger

Tottenham Hotspur were linked with a potential move for Sassuolo winger, Jeremie Boga, in recent weeks (calciomercato), but a new report has revealed that Chelsea could scupper any such plans.

Sport claim that Barcelona also have their eye on the winger, as they search for some cut-price signings in order to save money and balance the books. Napoli, Inter Milan, Lyon, and Lille are all also said to be interested in Boga.

Not only this, but Barca apparently have an agreement with Sassuolo that gives them preferential transfer treatment, with the Serie A club having the same power over any Barcelona academy starlets.

Boga was a Chelsea academy player until he was sold to Sassuolo in 2018, but Chelsea reportedly have a buy-back clause, handing them the ability to hijack any potential deals from other clubs (Express).

Calciomercato claim that Chelsea will wave this buy-back clause for a fee of £10.4m.

The Ivory Coast international only ever made one Chelsea appearance, but was sent out on loan to Rennes, Granada, and Birmingham. Since moving to Sassuolo, he has played 52 games and scored 11 goals (Wikipedia).
