Report: Chelsea leapfrog Spurs in the race for promising Dutchman

Football Insider have provided a further update on Tottenham’s rumoured chase for highly-rated Dutchman Lamare Bogarde and it is not good news for Spurs.

They reveal that Chelsea are now confident of beating Tottenham to the defender’s signature.

The publication first reported at the start of April that Spurs’ scouts were left impressed with the centre back and the club were preparing a move for him.

They reported a few days later that talent spotters from Arsenal had also been alerted to the 16-year-old’s potential and claimed that Gunners were prepared to blow their North London rivals out of the water in a bid to bring him to the Emirates.

It now turns out that a third London team, Chelsea are keen on the Feyenoord youngster, with the publication claiming that Frank Lampard’s side have moved to the front of the queue for his signature.

The report reveals that despite attracting interest from the likes of Borussia Dortmund, Schalke, Juventus and AC Milan, Bogarde is more likely to be Premier League-bound with the Blues installed as the favourites to land him.
