Report: Chelsea now have their eye on two reported Tottenham targets

CalcioMercatoWeb.it have claimed that AC Milan duo Rafael Leao and Ismael Bennacer, who have both been linked with moves to Tottenham, could attract substantial offers from Tottenham’s Premier League rivals.

Although Leao was primarily used as an impact substitute for Portugal in Qatar, the 23-year-old has arguably been the standout attacker in Italian football over the last 18 months.

It emerged last month that Spurs are one of several Premier League clubs who have their eye on the forward ahead of January (CalcioMercato.it).

Meanwhile, Bennacer has also emerged as a target for Tottenham recently, with reports stating last week that Antonio Conte is keen on bringing the 25-year-old to Spurs (CalcioMercatoWeb.it).

However, if CMW.it’s latest update is to be believed, the Lilywhites face a lot of competition for both players ahead of January.

It is explained that Paris Saint-Germain, Chelsea and Manchester United could offer around €100m-€120m (£87.4m -£104.9m) for Leao.

Meanwhile, Chelsea and Arsenal are also said to have their eye on Bennacer on the back of his impressive displays at the San Siro so far this season.

Spurs Web Opinion

While Bennacer would undoubtedly be a good fit for Conte’s system, I do not think Leao fits the profile of attacker that Spurs need, primarily because he prefers playing off the left. At £85m-£100m, I also doubt if Spurs would see value for money in doing that deal.
