Report: Chelsea plan to move for Spurs-linked star after takeover goes through

According to 90 min, Chelsea intend to join the race for Juventus forward Paulo Dybala, who is reportedly on Tottenham’s radar ahead of the summer transfer window.

Dybala is expected to leave Turin as a free agent this summer after Juventus CEO Maurizio Arrivabene confirmed the Argentine will not sign a new contract with the club (TuttoMercatoWeb).

Sky Italia have named Spurs as one of the three leading contenders for the Juve star’s signature, along with Atletico Madrid and Barcelona, but a move to Atletico is thought to be the 28-year-old’s preferred choice (Mundo Deportivo).

90 min have now revealed that Tottenham are also set to face competition from London rivals Chelsea for Dybala’s signature.

The report explains that the Blues cannot make any transfer moves at the moment due to the sanctions on their owner Roman Abramovich following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

However, once their takeover goes through, Chelsea allegedly plan to throw their hat in the ring for Dybala.

The report adds that Thomas Tuchel’s men have already made contact with the former Palermo man’s representatives over a move to Stamford Bridge.

Spurs Web Opinion

One could argue that Chelsea need Dybala more than we do. There are still some question marks over some of their forward line while our front three looks a lot more settled at the moment. I would not be too disappointed if Chelsea do beat us to the Juve star’s signature.
