Report: Chelsea player makes decision about his next destination amid Spurs links

BBC Sport have revealed that rumoured Tottenham target Trevoh Chalobah will only leave Chelsea this summer for a club that can offer him European football.

While Chalobah spent much of the 2023-24 season on the sidelines, the centre-back finished the season quite strongly, featuring regularly in Mauricio Pochettino’s starting eleven after returning to fitness back in February.

It was reported by The Telegraph earlier this week that the likes of Spurs, Bayern Munich and Nottingham Forest all showed interest in the 24-year-old last summer and that those sides could once again reignite their pursuit of the Englishman.

This was backed up a couple of days ago by HITC, who said that Tottenham had already reached out to the Blues to ask about the centre-back and that the Lilywhites could make a double offer for both him and Conor Gallagher.

Trevoh Chalobah wants to play in Europe

BBC Sport have now said that Chelsea would be open to cashing in on Chalobah this summer even though he has four years left on his deal at Stamford Bridge.

According to the update, the centre-back, who turned down the chance to move to Forest last summer, is thought to be valued at around £25m.

The outlet adds that Chalobah is not in a rush to leave his boyhood club and would only entertain offers from the top seven Premier League clubs or Champions League clubs in Europe.

Spurs Web Opinion

While Chalobah would undoubtedly be a good fit for Spurs, given his physical and technical attributes and the fact that he is homegrown, I do not think the 24-year-old would be too keen on joining the North London club as he would know that his game time at N17 would be limited.
