Report: Chelsea preparing bid for star rumoured to be on Tottenham’s radar

According to the latest reports from France, Chelsea are preparing a bid to sign rumoured Tottenham Hotspur target Mike Maignan.

Tottenham have been linked with a move for Maignan over the past few months as reports indicated that goalkeeping coach Nuno Santos is keen to be reunited with the man he worked with at Lille (La Voix du Nord).

However, after the arrival of Joe Hart last week, Tottenham’s goalkeeper situation now looks settled, with Jose Mourinho admitting that he is happy with the options at his disposal (Sky Sports).

Chelsea are also said to be after a goalkeeper this summer as Frank Lampard aims to sign an upgrade on the disappointing Kepa Arrizabalaga (Mundo Deportivo).

Le10Sport have now revealed that Blues have identified Maignan as the man to replace the Spaniard. The report asserts that the club are preparing a bid to sign the 24-year-old and hope to convince him to come to Stamford Bridge.

Spurs Web Opinion

Reports do seem to indicate that Jose Mourinho is on the lookout for Lloris’ long-term successor at Spurs. However, I do not think it is a problem we need to address for the next couple of years. Lloris’ has been fantastic since he returned from his injury lay off and there are few goalkeepers better than the Frenchman when he is in this kind of form.
