The Telegraph have revealed that Chelsea will speak to up to five managerial candidates including three who are rumoured to be on Tottenham’s radar – Julian Nagelsmann, Mauricio Pochettino and Luis Enqiue.

Pochettino and Enrique were being mooted as potential candidates for the job Tottenham job even before Antonio Conte’s sacking (The Evening Standard) but it is Nagelsmann who is thought to have emerged as Spurs’ top target after he parted ways with Bayern Munich (Football Insider).

The Independent reported earlier today that Chelsea have made progress in their talks with Enrique, with the Spaniard now flying to London for further discussions.

This has now been backed up by The Telegraph but the publication explains that the West London club have by no means made a final decision so far.

It is alleged that they are also in contact with Nagelsmann and will speak to Pochettino, with the Blues hierarchy said to remain ‘open-minded’ on who might emerge as best suited to the post.

The report adds that Chelsea are prepared to act fast and will not waste any time in making an appointment if any of the candidates emerge as their top choice.

This is the sort of urgency that fans would have liked to see Tottenham show in their managerial pursuit.

However, the Paratici fiasco has essentially handicapped the club from making any progress.

Even if Spurs were to approach Nagelsmann or Enrique, I doubt they would consider the role, given the uncertainty around what the structure above them will look like next season.
