Report: Chelsea star tells club to sign Spurs-linked defender Paratici loves

Romelu Lukaku has urged Chelsea to sign his former teammate and Tottenham target Milan Skriniar from Inter Milan, according to Sport Mediaset.

Lukaku spent two successful seasons at the San Siro and played alongside the 26-year-old under Antonio Conte, who guided Inter to an infamous Scudetto last season.

The Belgian made a return to The Blues over the summer in a deal worth a club record £97.5 million, which will keep him at Stamford Bridge for five years.

Chelsea, fresh off their Champions League-winning campaign, are continuing to build on that success and have placed a top-class centre half at the top of their list.

Sport Mediaset report Lukaku is pushing for Thomas Tuchel’s side to bring Skriniar to West London, in case Spurs return with interest of their own.

Spurs have targeted the Slovakian defender in the past, and it has been claimed the club’s director of football Fabio Paratici holds him in high regard.

Skriniar, though, made it clear to suitors that he was not keen on moving away from Inter this summer and is now hopeful of agreeing a new contract with the Nerazzurri.

It has already been difficult for Spurs to push through with a move for Skriniar in the past, and it doesn’t look like it will get much easier with Chelsea potentially involved.

Paratici admires the player, but Spurs have brought in Cristian Romero at centre-back for a hefty fee already, so it is unclear whether the club would be willing to meet the big fee Inter will likely demand.
