Report: Chelsea ‘watching’ midfielder Spurs may allegedly offer to Conte

Gazzetta dello Sport have now revealed that Chelsea have their eye on Inter Milan midfielder Marcelo Brozovic, who has also been linked with a summer move to Tottenham Hotspur.

Having been a fixture in the middle of the park for almost a decade at Inter, Brozovic has missed significant chunks of the 2022-23 campaign through injury and some reports have suggested over recent weeks that this might be the Croat’s final season at the San Siro.

Inter Live reported at the start of this month that the Nerazzurri could cash in on a 30-year-old during the summer transfer window as they need to raise funds to offset their losses.

The report named Spurs as the club who are ‘most interested’ in the midfielder and added that the Premier League side could snap up the player in an effort to convince Antonio Conte to sign a new contract.

Fichajes.net also reported on Tottenham’s interest in Brozovic on February 10 and added that the North London club could face competition for the player from Barcelona.

Gazzetta have now become the latest publication to talk up the possibility of the former Dinamo Zagreb man leaving Inter in the summer, explaining that ‘an important offer’ would be considered by Simone Inzaghi’s men, given their need to raise funds.

The publication reveals that Chelsea are ‘watching’ Brozovic and adds that the experienced midfielder is also an option that appeals to Real Madrid and Barcelona.

Spurs Web Opinion

If Conte is looking to add reinforcements to midfield, Brozovic is an option that will certainly appeal to him and one would expect Spurs to explore a deal for the Croat.

However, with Skipp and Sarr stepping up over recent weeks, the question is whether we need to be spending big money on a midfielder in the summer instead of using the majority of our funds to strengthen other areas.
