Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Christian Eriksen could be heading to Italy next weekend.
A report from Italian news outlet Corriere dello Sport (as reported by the Daily Mail) claim that Inter Milan are hopeful that the 27-year-old will be in attendance to watch them take on Cagliari next Sunday at the San Siro.
The report suggests that a significant breakthrough could be made between Inter and Tottenham could soon be made which would result in the Dane watching his new employers to be in action.
Eriksen revealed just days after the Champions League final defeat to Liverpool in June that he wanted to seek a new challenge away from North London whilst inviting interest from Real Madrid (Ekstra Bladet).
A move to the Spanish capital failed to materialise and a move to Italy looks to be the most likely destination.
This month represents Tottenham’s last opportunity to try and cash in on the former Ajax player, who will be out of contract at the end of the current campaign.
Eriksen’s agent Martin Schoots is expected to meet with the Spurs officials and reiterate intention to depart, although there still remains a difference in valuation of Eriksen between both clubs.
