Report: Christian Eriksen flies to Spain on transfer deadline day

Tottenham Hotspur midfielder, Christian Eriksen, was extremely professional against Arsenal in the North London Derby at the Emirates yesterday.

Despite constant speculation surrounding his future (Express), the Great Dane got his head down and helped to earn his side a vital away point, even opening the scoring himself.

The speculation comes after Eriksen informed the media back in June that he was ready to leave Spurs in search of a new challenge and a step up (Ekstra Bladet).

However, the press have not reported any concrete bids for the playmaker and the European transfer window slams shut today.

The Evening Standard seem to have put to bed any chance of a late move for Eriksen today, as they expect him to remain a Spurs player until January at least.

This comes as the midfield man left London this morning to fly out to Spain with the Denmark national team ahead of their match against Gibraltar this week.

Eriksen has under one year remaining on his current Tottenham contract, and it is not yet clear whether he will sign a new deal.
